Stops along the Way
Stop 1
David Currie, VC Armoury
The day started with an early morning ride with some members of the Saskatchewan Dragoons. Including Maj. Paul Park, the CO, Greg, museum’s curator and Cpl. Myra Szabo. Before we headed out for the ride, WO Peneycod came up to me with one of his kids in hand. He presented me with an envelope with a donation to the ride.

We didn’t get to ride very far together, Paul needed to go off to work. But, before he left us to navigate our way to Regina, he presented us with the official Command Coins of the Saskatchewan Dragoons. Another honour to recognize the work being done to by The Road To Valour.

Stop 2
Regina Airport – YQR
Stopped into YQR to pick up my friend Ehsan who flew in from Ottawa. He will be joining me for the last week of The Road To Valour. This is his first Bike camping experience. I have been very privileged to have shared many emotional events with Ehsan — this will be anther one of great experiences.that will live with me for many years ahead. But, first we had to rebuild his bike and get on the road.

The plan was to ride to a campground to the east of Regina, giving us a good launch to start Wednesday morning on our way to Grenfell, SK. However, the weather was less than cooperative. A quick check on a hotel app showed that we could get a hotel, with included breakfast for $125. Phone calls to the only campgrounds on the east side of Regina, found that these commercial campgrounds were going to charge $40 + tax per tent, even if all the tents are on one campsite, Hmm! Not much of a decision — we checked into the hotel, dry and looking forward to breakfast tomorrow morning.
