Today is Day #12 of The Road To Valour

I think that I have finally got my computer working properly. So I will be slowly catching up in arrears. But, for now, please accept that this is where we are tonight – Revelstoke.

Today was a wet one. We started off drying out our tents in Farmer Neville’s yard. It didn’t rain, but there was lots of dew. An omen of the weather to come.

After breakfast, just before heading off, a friend of Neville, Dave Horsefield dropped by with a $100 donation. A great way to start the day as we headed out on the new Shuswap North Okanagan RailTrail to Sicamous. a beautiful trail that is still under construction. At the end of the trail there is a ferry across the Shuswap River into Sicamous. On the ferry, the Captain offered us a cookie that a local lady baked and offered for free.

The road awaited, actually the Trans Canada Hwy. That’s when the rain began. Light at first and it got heavy.

Shortly after leaving Sicamous, we stopped in Malakwa to put on heavier rain gear. While we were there, the attendant at the gas station where we stopped, Abba, was very intrigued by The Road To Valour.

Along the way, we saw a moose off to the side of the road. Unfortunately, by the time I was able to pull out the camera— he was gone into the bush.

The rain continued and we were soaked by the time we got to Revy. Greg decided that a hotel would be appropriate.
